Hello TMR Listeners!
I hope you all had a great weekend; mine was eventful to say the least. We went to Conroe Texas to a place called County Line. It's a badass BBQ restaurant located right on Lake Conroe. They are doing a 22 week FREE concert series and we made it to the first one! It was awesome; we recorded Ben Danaher. Ben is an up-and-coming artist in this Texas Country scene, and I'll tell you this, he is going to be big. He has a unique sound and amazing songwriting ability. other Josh was suffering from a hangover and ate two whole Whataburger combo meals, Jess was sleeping as usual and I was in a very weird place. You see I had been up with Josh the night before chugging whiskey drinks; I wasn't as much hungover as I was still drunk. Josh left his phone charger at home so we drove aimlessly looking for an AT&T store that my iphone was supposedly leading us too. We passed three on the way to the one on my phone map, but they were on the wrong side of the highway so of course we were not stopping. Well when we finally got to the one on the map it was an AT&T office building not a store where you can find chargers. Then we go out of our way to find another store because Brother Josh must have his phone, so he can text for 90% of the day.
We finally arrived in Conroe around 4pm and as soon as we got there I knew there was going to be trouble, because Jess ordered a Bacardi and Diet. It was only 4:00pm we had about eight more hours to go and it only takes her two drinks to get drunk, so you can do the math. Ordering her first drink that early in the day is just a recipe for disaster. Well, the disaster came not just for Jess, but for the whole TMR crew and some of our friends as well.
bout 5 miles from County Line; he graciously invited us to stay the night. Unfortunately The Angry Sound guy could not make it because he had some business to attend to back in Dallas. Actually he was sick because he had three orders of enchiladas the day before at El Fenix. We missed him greatly, but we somehow managed to record the show without him. The recording went great and the food at County Line was really good. County Line is a really cool place, they set up an outdoor stage and it backs right up to the water. The 22 week concert series is going to be awesome and especially when it gets warmer, so everyone make sure to schedule a trip there this summer.
I sat down with Ben right before he took stage at County Line and what a cool guy to talk to. He is a great musician and songwriter, but even a nicer guy. We talked about the start of his musical career and what some of his goals were. After talking to Ben, it was clear to see that he is destined for big things. He knows exactly what he wants to do and has the talent and drive to do it. After the interview he played a great set that had County Line wanting more. Hundreds of people were at the front of the stage singing along, especially to Ben's new single "Everybody Round Here".
After the show we headed to Chris' lakehouse and the craziness began. We decided it would be a good idea to fish, play beer pong and take shots of cheap liquor all night and even after the sun came up. All in all, I think it was a successful trip and by that I mean we successfully recorded the show and somehow made it home.
Thanks for listening and we will catch you next week!! TMR
