Hello Texas Music Roadshow Fans!
We just got back from a rowdy weekend in Austin Texas. Austin is one of those cities where you just can't help but get a little out of control, and that's what we did. We were with Roger Creager at Midnight Rodeo. If you have never been to midnight Rodeo, then you are missing out. They have some great acts coming up, check them out at

This trip was the first time that the whole TMR crew did not travel together. Jess and I decided to go down a night early so that we could visit with some friends. In hindsight it probably wasn't the best idea because Jess had too many margaritas and I had to deal with her hangover the entire next day! I think I'm going to have to put a one drink limit on her; I can't handle that anymore.
We went to dinner at a place off 5th Street called "Maria Maria." The restaurant is owned by musician, Carlos Santana. The food was pretty good and the atmosphere was amazing. They had a live musician that not only sounded like Carlos Santana, but looked like him as well. We all had a great time and it was good getting to visit with friends. After we were all a couple of drinks deep we decided it would be a good idea to head over to the Pool Hall. This is where Jessica ordered her 4th margarita. As soon as she did, I knew it was about to be the end of her. We didn't stay there very long because Jess was "feeling a little under the weather." Plus, we needed to get home at a decent time because we had the big Roger show the following night.
The next morning was not so good for Jess, but somehow she had enough energy to go shopping. I was ok with that because I had to figure out what I was going to talk to Roger about. We stayed at the Omni roading in his Cadillac CTS. They had all the recording equipment in their car, so Brother Josh had to what he had to do!
We were in the parking lot waiting for them when we see a CTS whip around the curb on two wheels into the Midnight Rodeo parking lot. Brother Josh and the Angry Sound Guy had finally arrived! The Angry Sound Guy was angrier than ever. Not only was he in traffic for an hour, but Brother Josh forced him to eat at a Subway/Shell station combo. I have explained in the previous journals how serious he is about his food, so by now you should be well aware of the toll the whole trip had taken on him so far. I tried to steer clear of him, and just give him time to calm down. Brother Josh set up all the equipment by himself while the Angry Sound Guy nervously chain smoked outside.
After we setup our equipment we headed out to grab some dinner before the show. The Angry sound Guy, of course, wanted Mexican food. I wasn't really in the mood for it since I had just eaten it the night before, but I wasn't about to argue with him. We went and ate, had a couple margaritas and then headed back to Midnight Rodeo. When we got back I sat down with Roger Creager and that was a blast. We talked about everything from fishing to streaking (yes like through the quad to the gymnasium). After the interview Roger took the stage in front of a packed house. He put on an awesome show! He had a surprise guest join him on stage; make sure you tune in to hear that. He's such a great performer; if you haven't seen him perform live, you have got to make time to do it. But until then, catch him on the Texas Music Roadshow!
Till Next Time,
