Hello Texas Music Roadshow listeners!

Things have been so crazy lately; we have traveled over 2200 miles in our first five weeks on the Texas Music Roadshow. We have been driving all over Texas, searching for the best places to hear live music. If you missed one of the shows, make sure to get caught up on the SHOW page. This week we went to Josh Abbott's CD pre-release party at Gilley's in Dallas. We didn't do much "Road Trippin" this time because we live about ten minutes from Gilley's. We arrived at Gilley's at about 3:00pm and hooked up all of our equipment which was pretty easy because Gilley's has one of the best sound systems that you can find.

When we finished hooking all our equipment up, I interviewed Josh Abbott and asked him some pretty ridiculous questions (make sure you don't miss this one). But, I will tell you one question I did ask him which lead to a long video game battle. I asked Josh what his favorite thing is to do besides music. He said he loves playing Madden 2010 on his XBOX, so of course I talked a little trash. I believe my exact words were, "I'll school you in Madden." So, naturally we had to settle the score, and I'll say this, it wasn't pretty. The first game he was up 31 points at half. It was a humbling experience, but the only reason I lost was because I am a Playstation 3 guy (like normal people), and I'm not used to playing an XBOX. I mean seriously, an XBOX, really?

After the Madden ordeal, our Angry Sound Guy was getting antsy because it had been two hours since his last meal. So, we quickly went to one of his favorite establishments, Tupinamba. Personally, I think he has queso and salsa running through his veins; the guy eats Mexican food for every meal!

When we headed back to Gilley's there was already a big crowd, and the house band was playing. I had a bunch of college friends that came in town for the show, and once they got there, the beers and shots started coming. When Josh came on the crowd went crazy; what an awesome show! He played a lot of new songs from his CD coming out Feb.16th, which is a must-buy! We had so much fun at this concert; I think this was our best show yet, so make sure to listen!
